![]() ![]() I am especially interested in the first born grandsons of QV the most notorious being, of course, The Kaiser. ![]() Not at all Paul I, am very interested in all things regarding Queen Victoria and her family. We will start soon with Victoria and Albert's first child, HRH The Princess Victoria, Princess Royal, later HI&RM Empress Frederick of Germany, Queen of Prussia. The children of Queen Victoria's successor, HM King Edward VII, have already been covered ( Click here) as well as HRH Princess Victoria Eugenie/HM Queen Ena of Spain ( Click here) in previous Blogs. This does not, however, mean that the Grandchildren through the female line will be ignored. Daughters share their fathers' Coats of Arms and even brothers between them, too. The descendants of HRH The Princess Alice can also be included here.Īs most of Victoria and Albert's daughters married into German royal families, the scope for coats of arms is limited as the German tradition does not call for much differentiation or cadency. There are a couple of exceptions, namely the children of TRH The Princesses Helena and Beatrice who a) married Battenbergs and b) remained in Britain (on the understanding that they would be secretaries to the widowed Queen-Empress) and were mainly affected by the changes and de-Germanification of the British Royal Family as a consequence of the First World War. Heraldically speaking, we will be concentrating on the male-line descendants and British heraldry. Whilst Victoria would live to see the birth of all 42, HRH The Prince Albert, Prince Consort, died in 1862 at the relatively young age of 42 and only saw the birth of the first two, namely Wilhelm II 1859–1941 and his sister Princess Charlotte of Prussia 1860–1919, both children of HRH The Princess Victoria, Princess Royal. Victoria and Albert had a total of 42 grandchildren. HRH The Princess Louise, who married John Campbell, 9th Duke of Argyll, was the only one of their children who did not, in turn, have children. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert had 9 children, all of whom reached adulthood and married. ![]()
